Lawyers demand for Abotttabad operation probe

LAHORE: Top lawyers bodies of the country have demanded a high-powered inquiry committee to probe into the Abottabad operation, Geo News reported.

In a joint press briefing the officials of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), Pakistan Bar Council (PBC), Punjab bar Council (PbBC) and Lahore Bar sought the formation of a probe commission to find out as to who was responsible.

They pointed out that bar associations would chalk out their plan after consultation.

SCBA President Asma Jahangir was of the view that not every verdict of the Supreme Court was historic. PBC Vice Chairman Latif Afridi said the United States has violated Pakistan sovereignty.
